After Boeing merged with McDonnell-Douglas they kept development of the MD-95 (an updated version of the MD-80 series) and renamed it the 717.

The MD-10 is a cargo variant of the MD-11.

Also, in the future, please post this in General TravelTalk, as it doesn't relate to American Airlines.
