Yes, there is no more Premium (Executive) Economy on the EWR/LAX nonstops to SIN. In one of the greatest boneheaded moves in modern aviation history, instead of recognizing the stellar quality (leaps and bounds over every other Prem. Eco product on the planet, and better than some C as well) of their Executive Economy product and marketing/pricing it accordingly, they let the seats go at sub-$1800 fares, rarely promoted it and started complaining that they were losing money.

Their response? Make the aircraft all C class and start charging through the nose - right in the face of the worst non-depression economic slowdown in history. Loads dropped to almost nothing, but they began aggressively discounting the C fares to corporate customers - so instead of pricing Exec-Economy for what it's really worth, they now give C away to certain customers and overcharge (even after discount) everyone else.

Let''s hope they wake up and bring Executive Economy back...SQ is usually smarter than this.
