I won't drink out of hotel mugs; they're just plain gross with the coffee residue for last decade stuck to the bottom.
Our last trip was the last straw - I hadn't brought a mug, and all the hotel "kitchenette" had was a mini microwave and a micro fridge, and paper cups, not even spoons. If you try to microwave a paper cup, you get a very hot, very soggy mess.
So now I'm on the hunt for a lightweight, non-breakable mug that can be microwaved. I had thought of the classic camping tin cup for weight and durability, but those can't be nuked.
Suggestions?
I don't know. Anything metal is out. How about some sturdy plastic cup. Some can look quite alright. Basically like their ceramic brethren but in thick plastic. There are also collapsible cups for travel made of plastic.
