Yes, clearly not practical. Particularly in regards to weight and humidity. Also for stains and spills, not good. If you can be sure it will only ever be hand carried by yourself, maybe. Otherwise, forget it. A leather briefcase yes, a leather holdall ok, but a leather roller, nope.

There are some seriously good looking holdalls/ Gladstones / satchels in leather. These things are so gorgeous and stylish that I know one or two will be in my collection in the future. But the idea with these bags is rather to take a romantic weekend trip with a woman you want to impress with your style than to make your 75-100l miles of professional travel easier.
