I my expericence whenever an airline cancels a flight it is never their fault and therefore no compensation. Your case may be different as the flight has been cancelled days in advance. Even then I could see the airline arguying that the cancellation was in timely fashion allowing therefore for you to adjust your plans. (whether or not you are happy with the new travel plans seems to be of no concerns to the airline).

Therefore I would not give your complaint a good chance to succeed. However if you do feel that the cancellation has put you at a great disadvantage I would complain.
