It would be interesting to know how many NEW mvps or golds this promo actually created...if any or many at all. If you booked with corporate travel sites or internet travel agencies like expedia you likely bought the lowest fare that didnt qualify for the DEQM. Joe Flyer is also most likely to go for the lowest fare without any regard to paying extra for DEQMs. I think a lot of this was to entice already elites to pay higher fares and at the same time it helped them assure themselves they would requalify earlier in the year should they have their travel budget cut half way through the year. And if you also think about AS aircraft there are actually increased or the same amount of F seats open as MD80s, 400s and 700s are replaced with 800s and 900s.
