This is exactly why I chose to fly more on DL last year and make Platinum rather than be mid-tier on two airlines. UA, AA, and CO were handing out EQMs like candy last year. DL at least only offered DEQM on the more expensive fare buckets.

But after flying a whopping two roundtrips on UA last year and making Premier, no, I'm not expecting any upgrades. Upgrades were hard enough for low-tier elites before. I could see how new elite members' expectations could be elevated though.
