If it's got liquid or pseudo-liquid (anything that pours) in it and you're going on a plane put it inside another bag that can contain leaks.

I add that pseudo-liquid bit because we put a bag of barley in our bag (taking it to a relative who had never tried barley.) That was an awful mess!
