As a long time MVP we only average an upgrade about 20-25% of the time. Now with the new super elite level's ability to designate someone as an MVP we probably won't even see it occur that often. (This is based on my observation at the gate of all the MVPGs crowding into the line to be first on the plane. Some of them are Platinum bound and are going to have a spouse or equivalent-designated MVP traveling with them in the future.)

And here I was thinking our chances of an UG might improve this year on my theory that less business travel=fewer MVPs....

I'm not unhappy that we don't have to compete with AS Visa card members getting to credit dollars spent for EQM credit towards status but with the new wrinkle for the super elites I think that lower status folks like us continue to see an erosion of benefits and a steeper path toward achieving status.
