In this case, DL is now trying to compete by offering their over and full priced award tickets versus AA and United's half priced tickets.. like I said earlier one way to Europe could be as low as 20K on AA versus 60K on Delta if you're lucky to find "Low". I would hardly call this stretching.. maybe DL is stretching to rip off their customers and mislead us to think that their one-way is about the same as what airlines are beginning to offer. Well I've got news for you, it's not even close... which also explains why this new "One-way" feature has not been advertised whatsoever, and it's launching was basically kept a secret.. it just popped up on their website one day. So how can you explain that? If I were in your shoes, I couldn't.. I would just think that they are running a shady and misleading company, for offering one way for r/t prices
Apparently I wasn't clear. The only stretch would be to say that DL is the worst because AA and UA offer one-way redemptions. UP until last week UA, US, CO, and DL all offered 1-way awards for the price of a r/t. UA just joined AA in offering a reduced amount for travel that is only 1-way. Perhaps the other three will folllow.

I agree wholeheartedly that DL's LOW, MED, and HIGH model is the worst.

What "launching secret" are you talking about? As long as I can remember DL has never offered a one-way option. When asked about one-ways they have always replied "it's the same price (in miles) as a r/t". There was no "launching", no "secret", and no advertising. What exactly "popped up" on their web site? Are you talking about the One-Way tab when searching for award tickets? Nowhere in the program rules has Delta denied that one-ways are just as costly (in miles) as round-trips.

I think it would behoove DL to remove the One-Way tab when one searches for travel. But on the other hand, at CO.com if I want a one-way and just throw away the return leg I would have to find a saver pass going out and a saver pass coming back because they don't have a radio button to choose 1-way award searching. With delta.com I can find a LOW one-way and not have to worry about finding a LOW on the way back (which I would intend to throw away).

Bottom line... CO, DL, and US should all three offer 1-way award tickets.
