If redeposited miles counted toward lifetime totals, anyone could reach any number of lifetime miles easily by making and canceling award reservations over and over again. You'd want to do it with high-mileage awards (like an RTW in F) to minimize the impact of the redeposit fee, but even with more moderate-mileage awards it would be cost-effective. Just think: make/redeposit a 180K award six times, another MM on the counter, and four eVIPs for six redeposit fees ...
As posted just above, these aren't new miles. You had them, and got credit for them, previously.
