I don't get credit for the stay!

Personally, if I were looking at spending 25K points, I would go with 30K and stay at the Harbor Beach Marriott. That hotel is a true resort. Yeah, you won't have a lounge or free breakfast, but it is my favorite Marriott in the US and one of my favorite in the world. So for an extra 5K, you would get a much better hotel with a great pool and its own private beach. ^
I don't like staying at hotels where I have status because that stay won't do a darn thing toward my status....not to mention no perks. Can you imagine being at a fabulous hotel where you are Plat. and the executive lounge is a really great one, but because you went on the "cheap" you couldn't even get into the lounge???? Might not matter to a lot of folks...but it does me.

This is only for one night--pre cruise. This hotel is really close to the pier, which is a real plus. Having a beach is 100% not useful in this case. We will be on a 14 night Caribbean cruise and have all the beaches we can want....so I'm more concerned about the Executive Lounge and the perks @ this Renassiance and I can't seem to find any recent information.

Thanks.
