So, I just priced out my first MR and I'm wondering if there's anything more that I can do to make it better.

I found SFO-BKK roundtrip via:
SFO-SAN-LAX-NRT-BKK-NRT-SFO-MRY
(I figure I'll just skip the last segment)

I was able get both directions using UA SLXSL1 fare basis code; it priced-out properly on ITA and on UAL.com. It seems like that is the cheapest possible fare on Star Alliance carriers and also the one w/ the most options routing-wise. Please correct me if that's wrong.

It would be 17,349 miles for $849.50, which is 4.9 cents/mile (I'm UA Premier).

The destination (BKK) is fixed since I'm meeting others there. I'm traveling on Mar 30/31 and Apr 12. The dates are flexible a few days +/- each direction.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I book.
