Are you sure it's not £45 ($71.70 today)? Yeah, it went up.

This thread states "From November 2009

2001-4000 miles , the rates will be GBP45 and GBP90 so an increase of GBP5/GBP10 (from prior tax)
4001-6000 miles, the rates will be GBP50 and GBP100 so an increase of GBP10/GBP20" (from prior tax)"

And it increases once again toward the end of 2010.

I think the issue with the OP is the flight's origin in India. We've upgraded with SWUs to / from DEL, but our tickets were purchased in the USA.
