The tax is 10.3% and is applied to the fare paid - so coach in this case. Yes, this tax sucks but it isn't imposed by AA but rather the Govt. of India. Still a great deal versus paying for a J seat though. I have paid the tax a few times and it works out to around $150 for a round-trip.
