AC programs for upgrading is in its last years, IMHO, with the US airlines changes. So although AC is in a vacume they are just bleeding the stuck customers till they have to accept the changes going on in NA.
Or at the very least AC will have to change its upgrade policys for the USA market. great or the customer^

Also this Exit row policy might be NEW for AC but the US airlines have had it for years.
