First of all, I'd call LH myself to find out what other options there are? A 36h delay does not sound acceptable to me.
If the flights have been cancelled within the 14 day window, I believe you are entitled to EU comp. However, I'm sure you'd prefer LH to re-route you so that you get to your destination in time.
Do you have any status with LH ? If you have *G, I'd call the LH SEN hotline anyway.
There should be plenty of other options with LH/OS/LX!
