Read this conversation this weekend after spending ten nights in January figuring I would reach 75 in February on rolling calendar. Fortunate that I took platinum challenge before the ten nights. One staffer told me to wait until February, but I figured I should challenge (18 nights by end of April) so I could benefit from that level. They said I would qualify after 75 nights.

I called platinum desk today and they have dropped the rolling calendar. I can qualify by staying the 18 nights. Fired off a letter to head of rewards program, asking why they never communicated this new policy. Had they given me a week or two, I could have spent a couple more nights to qualify.

I know staffers don't write policy, and the guy I talked to knew I was shortchanged. I was operating on what staff told me. If I hadn't checked flyertalk, I might be in the ditch. Thanks.
