I got driven in a buggy from check-in to the F lounge and felt no need to go any further than the spa opposite. When the flight was ready for boarding I was escorted from the lounge all the way onto the plane, but you are right this didn't involve a buggy - however, this wasn't terribly far.
I believe it's a hit or miss affair with the buggy.
Me and the missus look very fit and athletic so I guess our escort saw no need to power up the "look DYKWIA" carrier. Far more exclusive to be escorted by foot anyway.
