Assuming SQ is not suffering from the current policy, I can't see why they'd change it. I agree that it's annoying from the redeemer's perspective.
FWIW, LH First Class comes with a massive surcharge on the BD programme. And that's on top of an increase in the cost of F redemptions. I wonder whether we are simply seeing the beginning of the end of rewards in premium cabins.
