No, generally you will get nothing from JQ.

The fun starts if you get an E Mail from JQ addressed to "Qantas Ticketing", saying your JQ flight has been cancelled or brought forward, so it breaks the connection from QF. You may think, ok I'll call QF and get on an earlier flight to connect. But QF won't do it - you get a mouthful of stupid excuses: JQ and QF are separate companies, you must pay extra & change-fees if you want the earlier QF flight, no responsibility blah blah. If you threaten a creditcard chargeback, they will ultimately refund the fare but that won't get you there.

But maybe this theatre of "we're-the-same-company-when-you-pay-but-we're-different-when-things-go-wrong" has stopped now that QF has "thru ticketing" with JQ on the same E ticket?
