Don't take Sharpie Pens on a plane

I know this forum is about travel items, but I wanted to share an item not to take on a plane: Sharpie pens!

I've been using them at work for a month or so & absolutely love them! I decided to replace the pens in my travel bag with them now. Well, today was the first day with them... I filled out my immigration form just before takeoff today and just held the pen in my hand. After about 20 mins into the flight I was starting to doze off and noticed my hand felt wet. I looked down & the Sharpie bled ALL OVER my hand. I ran to the restroom and most of it washed off, surprisingly. As I was scrubbing, I remembered I had 2 more in my bag overhead. I went back and one of the two had also ruptured during the short time in flight. I got both pens from my bag (along with the one from my hand) and disposed them all in the trash in the lav.

Maybe I got a bad batch or just had bad luck, but that's the last time I'll take them on a flight.
