Is it possible to earn MQMs on my Delta SkyMiles account by linking my SM number to someone else's ticket?

My mother is going to come visit me from Europe and she doesn't really care about miles (not as much as I do, anyway), would it work if I enter my SM number in her reservation? Or does Delta match name on the card with name on the ticket?

This is probably a basic question, and I suspect the answer is that it cannot be done, but I don't know for sure.
