Bali seems to have missed the financial issues happening around the world and it's been business as usual. Not sure of the miles required for coach but for business class it's 100,000 BA miles compared to 110,000 usuing AA miles. The weakness of our dollar isn't what it used to be as my last trip in April 2009 the exchange rate was somewhere around Rp. 12,000 per $1.00 USD and today it's Rp. 9,345 per dollar. As far as the layover play around with the online booking tool and see what you can find. I didn't know there was a Disney in HK? Tokyo not very relaxing unless you have big $$$ to spend on your trip. Universal Studios is opening in Singapore within the next 2-3 months.

Any idea if I can get a free layover in Hong Kong on a coach award ticket with Cathay using BA miles? HK is Cathay's hub, so the plane will stop there anyway. I'm wanting to tour HK and possibly Hong Kong Disney. Once I hit Disney Tokyo, I'll have seen all of the Disney parks. Hmmm... wondering if I should target a stopover in HK with Tokyo as a final destination and get 'er done; but Bali was such a wonderful, peaceful, and cheap place to visit.
Also, being in Raleigh, NC, I imagine I'll have to pay my own way to some gateway city; maybe drive to NYC or DC. From what I recall of the discussion, I can't use BA miles for transatlantic or transpacific travel out of RDU.
