- arrived jfk on ua6
- went to the rcc with a fellow f/t'er to wait for our next flight
- said fellow f/t'er watched my bags while i went out for a smoke
- upon going thru security to re-enter the terminal i tell the wtmd gatekeeper as i always do, "i'm wearing orthopedic shoes".
- sent to secondary for my shoe swab
- prior to my swab, the tso asks me "do you have a doctor's note?"

- i reply with one word "no" and say nothing else
- shoes and palms swabbed and i'm on my way
can any of our resident tso's kindly explain why that was asked?
I got nothing. I have always been told to do the additional screening and move on.
