Interesting. I only started flying AA regularly in '04, when I went to Paris and London. By then all 763s were two-class (though IIRC, there were still two configurations, with J being the same on both), some 777s were suites, some coffins, and all other widebodies were gone.
At this point, the semi-old school 762 J seats are my favorite premium seats other than the 777 suites (never flown the 762 F seats). I just think they are best suited for relaxing.
