megtravels....A radio button for no connecting would be good - but if they aren't reading the high floor "button".....
And you are right; Hyatt does give lots of space - but more importantly- they read it. I have never made a special request in that comment box that has not been taken care of prior to my arrival.
CJKatl: And yes, I do wonder what goes through their heads. I don't understand how management can not comprehend that the check-in process & room assignment sets the tone for the entire stay.
And in this hotel they obviously don't. Here is the "rest of the story" - happened after my initial post.
The stay only got worse. Highway noise was appalling - and I can sleep through almost anything. Did not receive my cell phone wake-up call because the electrical plug in the lamp didn't work - but as the lamp did, I didn't notice. Phone went dead. Using the sink, realized I was standing in water....icky water, because the pipes under the sink were leaking. I didn't have to worry about getting eloctrocuted though - as there was no hair dryer in the room. (noticed AFTER my shower, of course) Body Lotion had been used - well over 1/3 gone. Would have thrown it away - but couldn't - as there was no trash can. And to top it all off - although I booked a rate that included breakfast, was told by the waiter that I had not.
As that point, I went to the front desk and asked for the manager. I told him about my stay so far, (yes, I was quite pleasant and calm) and here was the remaining conversation:
Manager: "sorry for those inconveniences, but I am the one that checked, and you don't get a free breakfast".
Me: (still pleasant and externally calm) "you are correct. I do not get a free breakfast. I have a rate that includes breakfast".
Manager: " no, that is not what we show - so I will not give it to you. But, if you can prove to me that you are to get it, I will let you have it"
(at this point Mr. Sophie ducks and mumbles something about "incoming"..)
Me: (ok, now I am annoyed but not yelling) Well, if I PROVE to you that my rate includes it, you really aren't LETTING ME have it, are you?
I get the reservation, show him, and...
Manager: "I am going to have to talk to our sales department about this."
Tells front desk agent to give me the breakfast coupon. And walks off. Nothing else. No further mention of leak, AWOL hair dryer, nothing. No apology, no attitude adjustment - he just walks off.
As we are checking out (a day early - I am not extending this nighmare) he comes from the back, and asks me to look at the desk agent's screen. I do and he says "see, there's no where on here that says quiet room..."
Are you kidding me?
