To answer your questions, Saver fares are more restrictive, and once you become familiar with the ticket conditions on EK, it becomes easy to tell which is Saver and which is Flex. The miles breakdown is indeed useful for seeing whether fares are saver or flex. You can also choose to view flight options by miles earned, and this would give you a flex fare as the first option, albeit at a higher price than some of the other options. Even if you don't look at the breakdown, you can see the total miles and figure out whether it is saver or flex.
