Sure, I've done it. Bought several cartons of PasOGuava juice in a styrofoam shipping container packed into a box on a flight from HNL-LAX once. On QF SYD-LAX brought 1/2 a case of wine home; well packed and in a cardboard box. From BNA-LAX packed up a box of White Lily flour, Sorghum, and other items. JFK-LAX, numerous times and all kinds of things. Just make sure the weight is under and the dimensions (stated previously in thread) are within the standards.
