All FT'ers who check in
as 1 person (quite a lot for ozfests) really only need tell desk (or Hilton phone line) there will be
TWO guests in the room.
Makes no difference to rate or anything. And it may not be needed but doing it up front is the KEY.
Then it is simpler to 'guest" in others.
Often at lounge if you are asked what room you have, and say "614" they can see on computer you are booked into hotel as ONE person. Therefore a guest if they want to be narky can be an issue - and be charged at $50 a visit etc.
Last year a US HH Diamond member (who never left the US) booked my room using his miles, and he may or may not have got a UA SWU or two for his generosity.
Booking was in name of Rick xxxxxx/Glen xxxxxx,
When I checked in they said
"We've given you and Mr xxxxxxxx 2 beds - hope that's fine" and I replied --
"no just one king bed is better please"
The desk agent barely raised an eyebrow.
