By calling Hilton ADL internal reservations the other day, a lovely woman managed to get me (with some obvious difficulty) a room at the January Sale rate. It's only a Queen Guestroom, but at $117/nt (-20% HPC discount already applied) - c/in Fri c/out Mon - it's a hard rate to beat! IHG definitely aren't pulling any trump cards...very disappointing.......

Unfortunately I will lose HHG by the time Oz Fest comes around (only HHS), and it seems unlikely (a) I will be able to "race" for HHG again, or (b) HH will comp me HHG back. So there will be no (legit) Executive Lounge for me. At least the January Sale does include full breakfast in the rate (I believe continental breakfasts in the Exec Lounges are becoming a lot more strict on the meaning of continental, i.e. last two Exec Lounges I've been in there were no eggs).

So now with both hotels and flights booked, I'm definitely there!
