Profile: Quiet Room, High Floor Front Desk: Next to elevator or ice machine

The only requests I make in my profile is high floor, quiet room.

Many times I re-type it into comments, too - and yet I often receive the room closest to an elevator. Or directly across from the ice machine. Or my personal favorite - next to housekeeping. I am at the point now where I do not accept them - and go back down to get a different room. But (like last night!) I refused a room across from the ice machine and ended up with one facing the freeway next to housekeeping! At 12AM I wasn't about to go back downstairs for the 3rd time....

But why do I have to? Does whoever doing the room assignments not notice this? Not care? Doesn't know the lay-out of the floors, placement of ice machines, etc?

I do NOT have Plat-A-Tude - but unless a hotel is completely sold out - why would anyone Gold or Plat (or even Silver for that matter) be given these rooms? Even those who have "close to elevator" on their profile rarely mean the room next door.....
