One of the mandates the new President, Larry Pimantur, had with the line was to maintain pricing integrity. Last year, most sailings were hugely discounted, especially when compared to their direct competitor, Oceania. This year, they are increasing the included amenities, and the pricing as well.

Do I think there will be some discounting? Probably a little. But not to the same levels. For example, next Wednesday they are offering their version of a "Happy Hour" one-day-only special. A sailing which last year was on Happy Hour for a bit over $1,200/person this year is at $1,800/person for a similar itinerary. Not exactly, but close enough for comparisons - 14 night Asia. This is their "last chance discount" pricing. Shows a huge difference, and this sailing doesn't even yet have all the new initiatives in place as those don't start until April.

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to you last year. It sounds like you booked directly through Azamara? Please, please consider using an agent who can act as your advocate.

On the fare reductions, you can track the advertised price on their web site. Ask for the break out of the base price and NCFs (port charges) excluding taxes or any other additions like air. Then track if there are reductions. Or an agent can track for you.

It really is a wonderful line, and I hope you get to experience it. Your experience last year is not what I've had on the line at all where they went out of their way to ensure a great cruise.
