Make sure Verizon asks for your sim card number, without it your phone will be a brick outside the US (except for a few countries). Recently when traveling my girlfriend and I both added the unlimited international data plan, but when she called they never asked for her sim card number, mine was stored since I have traveled before. Long story short, when we land her phone is a brick showing SOS only and mine works on 3G without a problem.
