I personally do not think it is fair, and think they should adopt a floating year. I started flying AS quite a bit towards the end of last year. By the middle of March (2010) I will have clocked up some 18 Alaska Segments (Jan 2010 - March 2010). Now if Alaska evaluated Mile Plan Members on a floating year, rather than Jan to Dec I would have earned MVP status by the end of Feb, based on the segments and miles I clocked up last year.
I Love Alaska, but just a little frustrated how they follow a calendar year to determine MVP eligibility.
a lot of us have dealt with that at one time or another. I sure have. I missed MVP the first time by 6 segments and began using them in the month of October of that year. I was however emailed a challenge. Perhaps you could call AS MP and ask them to review your account and request a challenge. They seem to be handing them out fairly liberally
