Originally, you mentioned that you liked the article in Conde Nast. One of the major people that they talked was Gary Leff who posts a great deal here. Do a search for gleff. Also, check out his blog: viewfromthewing. Spend a while reading and you will start to form a plan of attack for getting status/earning miles.
