This just irritates the daylights out of me. I live on the east coast and fly WN to visit my family on the west coast with my wife and (well traveled and surprisingly courteous) 3-year-old. We early-bird or T-24 every trip and fly Southwest because we like the open seating and the overall relaxed atmosphere.

I hear stuff like this and it completely stresses me about regarding upcoming trips, one of which is next month. Thankfully, WN FAs and pax are generally cool about shuffling seats to help families sit together. This is yet *another* sign of the complete ineptitude of TSA and their wrongheaded policies. Don't enact policies that actually catch bad guys; just inconvenience everyone for no. Reason. At. All.
