Some of the Star Alliance carriers have started a bit of a summer I-fare sale, travel from June 29 (LH) or July 5 (UA) for about $2300 all-in return BOS-LHR or $2900 LAX-LHR. So you might see some pushback from BA in the short term (AA seems to have cut a few hundred dollars for the same timeframe but isn't matching). Or not.

UA is also having an F sale for the same time period. So there may be some hope.
