I figured I would use the companion cert for 2 of the tics and then possibly either use miles or that 50% off a tic for the 3rd ticket. We have only 41k miles. Is it worth it to use 15k miles and get the 3rd tic at 50% off? If I used miles to get a free ticket it came up at 25k rt.

It appears I need to purchase tics by mid-Feb where the rules for 50% change. Is that correct? Also, does anyone know if 1st class is worth it from SMF to ANC (all have a stop)? Thanks for any advice or anything I didnt think of to ask.
Dang... the N/S SFO-ANC does not resume until 5/31...

How much is the paid ticket to ANC from SMF? 25K isnt' too bad to ANC, considering the Bay Area can be well north of $600... and the 15K AS50 only takes off $250 tops... and earns 50% mileage. Compare that to the new miles & money award that will yield 100% mileage, or a free flight at the saver award level.

Paid First Class gives one access to the Boardroom in SEA and ANC (none in SMF- but one in SFO, not worth the drive), as for meal service - nothing that extravagant... but does include checked baggage, beverages, snack, and use of the dig-e-player SEA-ANC... so depends on how much extra F is...
