In South Africa there is a chain of lounges called the Premier lounge.

They have 2 international lounges and a few domestic one's. International carriers such as Iberia use their international lounge but NO short haul carrier does. They are mainly used by people with high end credit cards, private bank, Amex Platinum etc etc. AND CASH VISITS.

The company that owns them prints money from this venture.

SAA have the SAA credit card and if one has a platinum one then they can get into the SAA J lounge, also the RMB credit card gets one into the BA lounge despite the RMB credit card not earning BA miles.
