Indeed, I checked that for my case I should do YUL-JFK-BOS, which earns me 1000 minimum q-points each way. That's 2000 q-points for a 1040 miles trip. Plus it doesn't cost me much more. But we have to make sure that there is a change of flight numbers, because or else the mileage accrual will be taken as YUL-BOS. JFK ignored.

Just to confirm, AA coded flights operated by American Eagle, do earn q-points right?
