AndrewShih, welcome to FlyerTalk! You are correct that you get a minimum of 500 Q-miles
and 500 Q-points on any flight less than 500 miles. For flights more than 500 miles, you'll get 0.5 Q-point per
mile flown (in most but not all cases this is the same as Q-miles). Some fares don't give you 100% miles, so there is a subtle difference here. Other than that though, your calculation is right on mark.
MKE-ORD 67 mi actual, 500 Q-miles, 500 Q-points
ORD-TPA 1012 mi actual, 1012 Q-miles, 506 Q-points
TPA-ORD 1012 mi actual, 1012 Q-miles, 506 Q-points
ORD-MKE 67 mi actual, 500 Q-miles, 500 Q-points
Totals: 2158 mi actual, 3024 Q-miles, 2012 Q-points.
Good luck to you with your Gold challenge! (And same to you,
dallasflyer!)
