I have only once or twice before booked a hotel with Orbitz (it rarely works well for me, because of the loss of hotel loyalty points and other factors.) But now that I have a chance to book something favorable with a good coupon, I've started to look at the cancellation charges language for various hotel properties more closely.

What I have noticed is:
Orbitz virtually always has more restrictive cancellation policies than would apply if you booked at the same property directly for the same rate (so their declaration to the contrary seems hollow.
But it may be because they have to give back rooms being held back for them by the indivual property so they'll add an extra day or 2 requiring you to cancel earlier - speculation on my part.

The language displayed is awkward, and I wanted to be sure that I am interpreting language such as I have posted above correctly.

I am wondering what others experiences have been when they have to cancel an Orbitz reservation.
Im not so sure that its Orbitz that is up to no good. but rather feel the Hotels themselves want there to be different policies thusly when a person will try and get the benefits for finding a cheaper rate the BRG dept can Deny it since all the T&Cs arent the same. And the Hotel wont be penalized by Corp
