surprised by customer service

I recently flew BDA-LGW-LUX and then LHR-JFK in WT. I left last week and returned on Monday 25th.

My flight from BDA to Gatwick was perfect. Staff were very friendly, it was very smooth, good food, friendly captain etc. I then transferred to CE to LUX which was equally as good.

However, I was quite shocked on my flight from LHR-JFK. It didn't help that it was a 777 and an old one that still had the 2-cycle loop of films. It also didn't help that we had to circle for 2 hours in bumpy conditions over NY before being allowed to land. However, my concern was the crew. The stewardess on my section was incredibly unfriendly, rude and unprofessional and I am shocked that someone like this would work for BA and in my many flights, I have never come across such a member of staff.

I was the emergency exit row which is also unfortunately next to the bassinet and baby row and a family was there with a screaming baby who didn't really stop all flight. Every time they asked her for something she complained under her breath, and as I was at the aisle I heard it all. The first time she said "Jesus Christ.........leave me alone". The next time she said "stop being so annoying" and the third time I noticed she said "how long is this going to go on for." Now, don't get me wrong, they were asking for water etc, but she should have thought the comments, not said them. Plus, don't be cabin crew if that is how you feel about people on flights. I asked for a bottle of wine with my meal as she didn't offer one and she sighed and said she would come back with one once she had served everyone, and then didn't.

BUT, what I was most concerned with was at "doors to manual and cross check" she did her door and then looked across the aisle, but didn't really check, and then didn't let the other cabin crew check hers as she stood back and hid. He then had to call someone on the phone to come and check his door and hers while she stood in the WTP entrance. I was really quite shocked.

It was a shame as the cabin service director was such a friendly helpful man, especially as we were so late and had to circle for so long.

Anyway, I just felt that I had to share, and I will indeed be writing a note to BA as I have the young lady's name.
