I'd be interested in seeing what this door looks like. I've never been in an airport where I felt some random door was the exit.
To be fair ... this passenger had just arrived in an unfamiliar airport in a foreign country, having just gotten through the wonderfully aggressive treatment that CBP gives to our guests, having just arrived from a country whose infrastructure got blown to pieces a couple of days earlier by an earthquake. A little bit of disorientation would not be unexpected.
