So while BA may do the right thing and have lots of flights, or the ability to put the paassenger on another carrier, unfortunatley the rules apply to them as much as anyone else.
Let us also be clear that if BA provide the passenger with the service the passenger has paid for in advance (ie the correct flight at the correct time in the correct class of service) then there is no compensation due.
It is only if BA do
not provide the passenger with the service the passenger has paid for that compensation becomes payable. I cannot see why some people have such a problem with this concept.
