If I'm the OP, I wouldn't go on JQ but its competitors even if I've to pay a little more. Alternatively, I'd look for another destination...!
we do actually really want to go to Bali - first time, keen to try the intercon there
happy to try another airline but they're mostly involving an extra stop and at least 5 hours extra - not great with a 2 year old in the party. so we may yet grudgingly stay with jetstar just for the timings
