I talked to the platinum line today and was also told me that there would be no rolling calendar qualification for this year. Elite qualification would be determined from Jan 1, 2010 until Dec 31, 2010. I was hoping to requalify for platinum when I get downgraded in Feb to gold with a large amount of stays I was going to book with the Marriott the next couple months that with the rolling calendar I would earn platinum again. Now I am going to have to rethink that strategy and perhaps just give up on Marriott this year.
