As I understand it, Diamond status will give you higher priority when it's implemented, but it won't guarantee availability. The ATL-PDX nonstops on 1/28 are all showing V0 now.
When it is implemented next month it will give higher priority at the 5 day window and that is what folks are banking on: Getting the 5 day and avoiding the BF.
