I thought that you were invited to use the Admirals Club
only if you were in F on a Flagship Service flight?. I think AA only uses 3-class metal on Flagship flights (767, 777, A300), and so if you are in F on 2-class metal (757, or the dreaded transcon 737-800 such as LAX-MIA

) even though it is on a Flagship route, you weren't invited to the Admirals Club?
IMHO, I prefer the 3-class metal when flying transcon, especially if you get internationally configured metal such as the 777, 763, or international 762.
Also, on 3-class metal, if you are in C, there is always the chance that you will get bumped up to F (probability increases based on status). If you are in F on 2-class metal, the only way to sit in the better seats is to be a member of the Pilot's Union
